Assra Satti, local one-to-one Maths tutor
I’m Assra, an experienced teacher and secondary maths tutor based in Sutton. I have been teaching since 2006 and tutoring for well over a decade.
I specialise in working with students from Year 7 to Year 11, across both Foundation and Higher tiers. Every student is different, so my first priority is to understand what they already know, identify any gaps and work out what is preventing them from making progress.
My lessons are tailored to the individual student. I explain ideas clearly, help students strengthen their core mathematical skills and give them plenty of supported practice before expecting them to work independently. For GCSE students, we also focus on exam technique, interpreting questions, showing clear working and developing the speed and confidence needed to perform well under pressure.
Sometimes a student needs help rebuilding their confidence; sometimes they are moving from Foundation to Higher tier; and sometimes they already have a strong understanding of maths but want to stretch themselves towards the highest grades. I adapt my teaching accordingly.
Lessons are available online, with some face-to-face availability for families in and around Sutton. My usual rate is £40 for a one-hour lesson, and I currently have limited weekly availability.
