I’m Alex, a local parent based in Carshalton with over 20 years’ teaching experience. I’ve designed The English Practice curriculum from the ground up: a structured programme where each lesson builds on the last, helping pupils develop the reading and writing skills they need for stronger exam answers.
Each week, your child works through a guided lesson and workbook, practises writing answers by hand and sends me their work.
I personally mark their work and give them clear, individual feedback: what they’ve done well, what needs improving and how to tackle it. They then complete a focused task to put that feedback into practice.
That final step matters. Acting on feedback is how pupils learn to strengthen their answers and work towards better grades.
The programme fits around school and family life, with guided independent study at home and personal written feedback from me. Your child has a clear weekly task, a submission date and the same teacher supporting them throughout.
