Antenatal classes and parenting workshops

Good support and effective preparation classes are really important to help you achieve the birth you want. Local Mums recommend the best birthing and parenting classes in our area.

"I highly recommend The Daisy Foundation to all Local Mums. This course was the best thing I did during my pregnancy and would recommend it highly particularly to first time mamas but also to second and upward time mums. I had a really comfortable and speedy birth and I honestly think the course played a huge part. This course goes back to the natural way of giving birth which is all about keeping moving (none of this laying in a hospital bed and going against gravity to try and push your baby out like you see in the movies!) and using a variety of positions to help get your baby in the best position for labour and helping you manage your contractions. Aside from breathing/movement techniques and positive visualisation the course also covers aspects of what to expect such as medical choices during labour. This, for a first timer like me, was also really useful because it's current up-to-date information, shared in a safe environment where you feel absolutely free to ask the daftest of questions. At the end of the day we all hope for as natural a birth as possible, but it helps to be aware of your options if things don't go quite as you hope. I can't recommend Daisy Birthing enough!!”

"I recommend The Daisy Foundation to Local Mums. The course was fantastic for both parents. From a birthing perspective I found it increasingly empowering. From a parenting perspective, both myself and husband have really appreciated the confidence we now have towards it all."

Meet Kellie
“I’m Kellie, Mum of two, a girl and a boy. Having completed Daisy Birthing Active Antenatal classes prior to the birth of my son, I can honestly say it completely changed the way I felt about my whole pregnancy and birthing experience. Not only did the classes give me some much needed relaxation and gentle movement time, they also helped me to look forward to my birth positively. Whatever your birthing choice is or ends up being, the course introduces a number of helpful tools to use and it provides some excellent education.

I felt so passionate about the way the course enabled me to be confident and enjoy my birthing experience that I recommended it to anyone who would listen! I then decided it was time to spread the passion by teaching it myself, so here I am! I feel privileged to be in a position where I can help mums and dads through the most amazing journey of their lives.

I currently teach Daisy Birthing Active Antenatal Classes in Surrey, which is an all-encompassing active birth preparation programme, just for mums to be. They are suitable from 14 weeks of pregnancy and you can attend as many terms as you wish in the run up to your birth, whether it is your first or a subsequent pregnancy. The classes focus on you, building your confidence and preparing you for a positive birth. The classes are run in an intimate group setting and will benefit all mums to be, even those planning a caesarean section. You will also have the opportunity to meet other local mums and I will set up some social meet-ups for those who would like to grow their mum friendships.

I also offer Daisy Parent workshops. This unique all-inclusive parent preparation course focuses on both birth preparation and practical baby care, allowing you to feel prepared not only for birth but for the arrival and care of baby too. This 12-hour course is equally divided between birth preparation and practical baby care, with the option of expectant parents to choose the 6-hour birth, 6-hour practical baby care or both parts of the course. Your course will cover a combination of:

Antenatal and active birth education

Movement, relaxation and birth hypnosis

Parenting choices

Practical baby care and safety

Baby calming techniques

Courses are for mums to be and birth partners and are ideally suited from 30 weeks of pregnancy. All birth plans and choices are supported and courses are suitable for both first time and subsequent pregnancies.

If you would like more information or have any questions then please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
