If you've ever waited with your kids in a queue at a big shoe shop, or tried to complain about a pair of shoes that broke two days after you bought them (despite the expensive price tag) then Happytoes could offer you a much better shoe shopping experience.
An indpendent shoe business selling quality, affordable children's shoes based in Hackbridge, Happytoes aims to offer great shoes and even better customer service. Maria, who has been in the shoe industry for 30 years, used to own her own shop in Balham until huge rent increases sadly forced her to close her shop. "I didn't want to give it up though," says Maria. "I'm too good and knowledgable at what I do."
Maria now bases her business on home visits. "It's very popular," explains Maria. "Mums can call me and I bring the shoes to their house to fit and measure," explains Maria. "It's great because they have no queuing, parking charges and the little ones are happy too. Some mums get groups together at their house and it's great fun."
Maria also does pop-ups in cafes, like Patisserie Valerie in Sutton, where anyone can come along and view or buy shoes. She also runs a loyalty card scheme, to make the shoes even more affordable. "Parents get a stamp for every purchase made and when they have five stamps they get 25% off the sixth pair. There is no time limit on the card. If parents have 2/3 children it's filled pretty quickly!"
